Underfloor heating installations

Underfloor heating, designed around your home.

Underfloor heating is an excellent heating solution for any home. Whether you’re looking to install it in individual rooms or your whole house, in a renovation or a new build, our engineers have the experience and knowledge to advise on the best solution for you and your home.

What is underfloor heating? It’s a low temperature heating system in which strong, flexible tubing is embedded directly into the floor. Heat radiates upwards from the floor surface, warming the room evenly and quickly to the temperature that suits you. Easy to control, with rapid heating, it’s an energy-efficient and cost-saving option because you only heat the rooms you’re using.

As Nu-Heat registered installers and an official Nu-Heat underfloor heating systems supplier, we pride ourselves on giving our customers an efficient, affordable way to heat their home, with warm water or electric systems chosen to suit each room.

Benefits of underfloor heating

Why choose underfloor heating?

From being economically efficient to saving space throughout your home, there are plenty of good reasons to choose underfloor heating.

Eco-friendly

As a low temperature heating system, underfloor heating uses less energy than high temperature systems like radiators, helping you reduce your carbon footprint.

Flexible

It can be installed in any room in your home, from basements to loft conversions, so it suits almost any property, whether new or being renovated.

Space saving

Because it sits beneath your floors, underfloor heating frees up the wall space traditionally taken up by radiators, giving you more freedom with furniture and layout.

Room-by-room control

Each room can be set to its own temperature, so you heat only the rooms you’re in and never waste energy warming empty spaces.

Even, comfortable warmth

Heat rises gently from the whole floor rather than from one hot spot on the wall, so there are fewer cold corners and warm floors underfoot.

Efficient by design

Underfloor heating runs at a lower flow temperature than radiators, which suits a modern condensing boiler and helps it run efficiently.

Types of underfloor heating systems

Warm water or electric underfloor heating?

As a Nu-Heat installer, we offer two types of underfloor heating system: warm water and electric. The right one depends on you, your household and the rooms you want to heat, and we’ll help you choose.

Warm water systems suit most properties, including new builds and renovations. Nu-Heat’s LoPro underfloor heating can be laid directly on top of the existing floor in a renovation, meaning minimal disruption and quick heat-up times. From basements to loft conversions, warm water underfloor heating can go in any room on any floor, and whether it’s one room or the entire building it’s affordable, easy to install and energy efficient, saving money on your bills throughout the year.

Electric underfloor heating

Not sure which suits your home? Book an underfloor heating survey and we’ll look at the rooms, the floors and how you use them, then recommend the right system.

How an installation works

From survey to warm floors.

01

Underfloor heating survey

We visit, look at the rooms you want to heat and the floors they have, and talk through how you use your home.

02

Accurate system design

We design the system around each room, looking at external walls, windows, ceiling height and insulation, and calculate the tubing and materials needed so waste is kept to a minimum.

03

Installation

We lay the warm water tubing or electric mats, connect the system to your heat source and controls, and test it fully.

04

Handover and controls

We show you how the controls work so you can set each room to the temperature you want and get the right amount of heat for minimal energy.

Responsive and easy to use

Your system will be responsive and easy to understand, reaching the temperature you set, not too hot or too cold, in every room.

Lower running costs

Once you’re used to the controls, you can fine-tune the system to produce the right amount of heat using minimal energy, saving money on your bills.

Less waste

We calculate the tubing and materials your home or building needs, so excess is kept to a minimum: great heating at an affordable price, with a clear conscience.

Nu-Heat registered installer

We install Nu-Heat warm water and electric systems, and the same team fits boilers and hot water cylinders, so the whole system works together.

Renewable heating solutions

Underfloor heating works at a lower flow temperature than radiators, which is where a modern condensing boiler is at its most efficient. Pair it with a correctly sized boiler and good controls and you get even, comfortable warmth without the walls given over to radiators.

It depends on the size and number of rooms, the type of system, the floor construction and how it connects to your heating. Because every system is designed for the room it heats, we don’t quote a fixed price over the phone. After an underfloor heating survey we’ll recommend the right system and give you a clear price before any work starts, with no hidden costs.

Warm water systems suit most properties and work well for one room or a whole building, running from your boiler. Electric systems are usually best for one or two smaller rooms, up to around 18m², such as kitchens and bathrooms, and sit happily under heavy tiles. The right choice depends on your home and how you use it, and we’ll talk you through it at the survey.

Yes. Underfloor heating isn’t just for new builds. Low-profile warm water systems such as Nu-Heat’s LoPro can be laid directly on top of an existing floor, which means minimal disruption and quick heat-up times. It can go in any room on any floor, from basements to loft conversions, so it’s a popular choice for renovations and extensions as well as whole-house projects.

Yes. As a low temperature system it uses less energy than high temperature systems like radiators, which helps cut your carbon footprint. Room-by-room control means you only heat the spaces you’re using, and once you’re familiar with the controls you can fine-tune the system to give the right amount of heat for minimal energy, saving money on your bills.

Yes. We design each system so every room can have its own temperature, set the way you want it: not too hot and not too cold. At handover we show you how the controls work, so you can heat the rooms you use, when you use them, and get the most from the system from day one.

Underfloor heating isn’t a one-size-fits-all fix. How many external walls a room has, the size of the windows, the ceiling height and how well the home is insulated all change how much heat it needs. Accurate design makes the system responsive and comfortable, and because we calculate the tubing and materials needed, waste and cost are kept to a minimum.

Yes. Electric underfloor heating is a popular choice for kitchens and bathrooms. It can go under heavy tiles without the risk of cracking, gives a comfortable warmth underfoot and is waterproof, so spills and splashes won’t affect it. Warm water systems can also be used under tiled floors, and we’ll recommend the best option for the room.
