Oil boiler installations, Bristol
For homes in Bristol and the surrounding areas, our OFTEC registered engineers supply and install top-quality oil boilers. Every installation gets the same reliable, personal service, so your new heating is a sound investment in your home.
Oil boilers are an excellent solution where a connection to the mains gas supply isn’t practical. Because the oil is stored on site, they’re particularly well suited to rural properties, giving dependable heating and hot water and a consistent, comfortable level of warmth. With regular servicing, an oil boiler has a long lifespan.
We work with leading manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch to give our customers the very best heating products, and we can recommend a boiler to match your home and needs.
Choosing an oil boiler
An oil boiler installation involves more than the boiler itself. Here’s what we look at to make sure your new oil heating is efficient, safe and compliant.
Oil boilers come in the same types as gas: a combi for hot water on demand, or a system or regular boiler with a hot water cylinder for larger households. We’ll recommend the right one for your home.
Depending on your property, an oil boiler can sit in a kitchen or utility room, or be an external model outside the house, freeing up space indoors.
The tank matters as much as the boiler. We check its condition and siting, and if it needs replacing we can fit a new one. See our oil tank installations.
Oil boiler flues have their own rules on clearances from windows, doors and boundaries. We plan the flue position at the survey so the installation is safe and compliant.
Modern oil boilers are condensing models, recovering heat that older boilers send up the flue. Upgrading an old oil boiler can make better use of every litre you buy.
A new oil boiler is a good time to fit better controls, such as a programmable or smart thermostat, so you only heat the home when you need to.

Oil boiler replacement
Oil boilers typically last around 10 to 20 years when properly maintained. When faults keep returning and the cost of repairs starts to exceed the cost of a replacement, a new, modern oil boiler is usually the more cost-effective and efficient choice.
Our engineers will always discuss your options with you, and tell you honestly if they feel a replacement would benefit your heating system. Read more about upgrading to an energy-efficient boiler.

Oil leak or smell of fumes? Turn the boiler off and, if you can safely, close the valve at the tank. Don’t smoke or use naked flames nearby. Stop oil reaching drains with sand or earth, and if a spill could reach a drain or watercourse, call the Environment Agency incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60. If your carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone outside.
